About Pastor Katie

I was born to a family of one brother and six sisters.  My mother told me as a child that I had a special quality about myself and that I would be more concerned about the spiritual things in life, which has proven to be true.  As a child, I cared nothing about dolls and toys and the usual childhood things.  I was more interested in what made things work.  When, I was about four years old, I remember taking my mother’s watch apart because I heard it tick and I wanted to know what made the ticker tick.  Of course, my curiosity sometimes got me into trouble, and yet again, I became kinda known for my explorative tendencies.  I was self taught.  In those days, there were no early pre Kindergarten schools and I remember having a burning desire to read and because my siblings wouldn’t help me, I taught myself my A,B,C’s & learned to read by listening to my siblings read.  I had a presence with me (I later learned it was the Holy Spirit) that taught me many things, such as, how to take apart irons, radios, and all sorts of electrical things and fix them.  In fact, I became known as the “fix it girl” and people would say, “give it to Katie, she’ll fix it.”  Perhaps, I was already equipped for my life work, but, just didn’t realize it at that early stage in my life.  The poet, Henry David Thoreau best describes my life in saying, “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.”

When I think of my miraculous birth, I realize that God’s Devine protection was upon me while my body was being formed in my mother’s belly.  My, mother already had three children and due to ill health, was told by her doctor that she could not sustain another pregnancy, but needless to say, she became pregnant, and was advised by her doctor to get an abortion.  An appointment was made for her to get the abortion in a different state.  Upon, arrival she was told that the doctor had just died and by God’s grace and mercy she endured the pregnancy and I was born.  My mother had three more children after me and stated that out of all of her 8 children, my birth was the easiest.  My testimony concerning my birth, is that, “God had to take the doctor out of here to get me here,” I too am affectionate toward Jerimiah 1:5 as Bishop James, which reads “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

 In retrospection I can now see that all through my life I was in tune with the invisible side of things spoken of in Hebrews 11:3 that states “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.   You may ask, “what does all of this have to do with my being a Christian or Pastor?”  It is the very essence of my Christianity.  For, I have come to know that my designated & ultimate mission in this earth plane is to teach that the kingdom of God is at hand, and how can I do this unless I myself am aware of God’s kingdom?

I’ve learned that every thing has a place in life and that every thing must be put in its proper place.  I have received to some extent theological studies, preparation and testing for the priesthood and Seminary training, and all of this plays it part, but, nothing excels the inspiration God’s Holy Spirit, and I hold fast to the vastness of Gods universal knowledge that is so available and free to all who accept the leading of God’s Holy Spirit in order grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To God Be The Glory!!!!

1 Corinthians 3:18-23
 18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
 20And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
 21Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
 22Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
 23And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's
