Bible Truths

Christ/The Word/God

 John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Father/Son/Holy Spirit

1 John 5:6-8
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one

The English word Bible is from the Latin biblia, which means the books. History teaches us that there is evident that numerous sacred books were not canonized and not included in the “The Holy Bible,” but, we who have knowledge of them and believe them to be sacred, and as Christians, acknowledge them to be the inspired word of God, even though, they were not canonized by man. It is also evidence that what books we do have termed as “The Holy Bible,” includes God’s inspired word to lead us from earth to glory. And upon this premise; We believe that “The Holy Bible” is the inspired Word of God equally in all parts and without error in its original manuscript, absolutely infallible, and our source of supreme revelation from God to man. It is therefore our article of faith and the Ministry’s guide to all practices. It is the source given to mankind for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. II Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12

Strength In The Lord

ISAIAH 40:28-31

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

The Holy Spirit/The Comforter

John 14:16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:7  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

NEW DIRECTION COMMUNITY HOPE

(a subsidiary of Path of Life Church)

PURPOSE

NEW DIRECTION is a subsidiary of Path of Life Church, a Illinois non-profit corporation with a 501 (c)(3) status located at 2200 Camp Jackson Rd Cahokia, IL.  Path of Life Church is community oriented and seeks the well being of its citizens by offering a program that gives alternatives to the negative forces that have impacted the lives of many.  We invite the citizens of the community to come together and form various committees that will spearhead positive leadership and implement the program to give direction to the needs of the citizens of the community, as well as, addressing and nurturing their spiritual, mental and physical needs.

NEW DIRECTION is a grass-roots Community Service Endeavor to provide a program for Cahokia’s families of low income.  Its primary mission is to serve as a community service and outreach organization with special emphasis on youth and family programs that will assist in the enhancement of their quality of life * mentally, physically, and spiritually.  Thereby, families with children in the Cahokia area will improve their quality of life in their community.  We do this by focusing on programs and activities which encourage parents, children, and community members to come together to develop caring and respectful relations, positive and responsible attitudes, and productive skills.

The long term goal of NEW DIRECTION is simple, yet fills a critical need of the people served: to empower residents to take responsibility for their quality of community life, and to promote the well-being of children, parents, families and community members.

NEW DIRECTION will focus on the development of the whole child.  In order to do this, we look at the cognitive, emotional, physical, and social needs of each child.  We believe that children learn with a variety of activities that will allow for success and encourage advancement in all areas.

NEW DIRECTION provides opportunities for the youth of the Cahokia, especially the most troublesome and ridden areas of the city and surrounding communities to participate in a variety of challenging educational and learning activities designed to enhance individual learning skills, build self-respect and self esteem, and promote an awareness and understanding of good citizenship.

ENDEAVOR

Our endeavor is to give new direction to Cahokia, IL a city that has been belabored with crime, is drug infested, and a has a high rate of high school drop-outs.  Our program is a grass-roots community service program for families of low income.  Its primary mission is to serve as a community service and outreach program with special emphasis on youth and family programs that will assist in the enhancement of their quality of life – mentally, physically, and spiritually.  Thereby, families with children will improve their quality of life in their community.  We do this by focusing on programs and activities which encourage parents, children, and community members to come together to develop caring and respectful relations, positive and responsible attitudes, and productive skills.

We will provide opportunities for the youth of the community and possibly surrounding communities to participate in a variety of challenging educational and learning activities designed to enhance individual learning skills, build self-respect and self esteem, and promote an awareness and understanding of good citizenship.

There is a need to stimulate, motivate and activate the people in the Cahokia community into action.  We will do this by calling a community meeting so the residents can talk about their concerns for their community. Sometimes people want to be a part of good things going on around them but just don’t know how to self-advocate.  It is always good to allow people to be a part of what one is trying to do for them. Even those considered to be radical and uncooperative will respond differently when they don’t feel threatened and are given a chance to funnel their radical energy in a positive direction.  Often, leadership is inherent in people; all they need is for somebody to affirm it in them and build their self-esteem. They can then channel their God-given energy towards a positive display of their leadership ability. People react negatively when they lack self-esteem. Our goal is to use the people of the community to bring self-esteem and recognition to their community.
