​It is noted that Church writings from the second and third centuries discuss the role of acolytes, though, now a more modern term “Altar Servers” is used.

In Path of Life Church, Altar Servers are not ordained, but are 'commissioned' by the Bishop or his designee.

The term "server" may be used for those who carry out the liturgical functions of Path of Life Church.

Men and women, boys and girls may function as Altar Servers during the liturgical function of the church and perform their duties as instructed by the Bishop or his designee. 

No distinction should be made between the functions carried out by men and boys and those carried out by women and girls.
 
The primary role of the altar server is to assist the Bishop or his designee during the liturgy of the worship service.
