NEW DIRECTION COMMUNITY HOPE

"A Community Working Together"

POLC - Path Of Life Church Brief History

Since the inception of Path of Life Church (POLC), we have not wavered in our faith and have been tremendously blessed of God.  We are confident that we have yet to see all the good things that God has in store for us – the best is yet to come! We stand in awe and anticipation of our continued growth and development. During this dynamic journey over the past year our bishop, pastor and leaders have adhered to the one true mission of the church: to win souls to Jesus Christ. Through this uncompromised dedication we have witnessed growth in our family of believers. Lives have been saved and changed, and others have come to us for encouragement and support.  We have willing workers who stand ready to serve in the Vineyard of the Master. To God be the glory for great things He has done.

An amazing part of our history began in October, 2009 when Rev. Katie L. Dargan was led of God to form Path Of Life Church.  On October 7th, Path of Life Church was incorporated by the state of Illinois. On October 15th Rev. Katie L. Dargan founder, became Vice President, Secretary, and was appointed Co-Pastor with her husband, Bishop James L. Dargan, who served as President and Bishop/Pastor of the Church.

By March 1st 2010 POLC had obtained its first rented place of worship in the Bethel United Christ Of Christ building located in Cahokia, IL and held its first worship service on March 7th and first Wednesday Bible Study on March 10th and on May 31st the Church turned its focus to even a greater celebration, its Grand Opening.

In November of 2009 the church had already changed its focus to obtaining its tax exempt status and by June 9, 2010 its 501(c)(3) its tax exempt status was granted.

With this new found status the Church stands in hopes of acquiring new and effective programs to begin fulfilling greater needs of the church members and the community.

After showing forth her readiness to lead and serve, on July 18. 2010, Rev. Katie L. Dargan was elevated to Pastor of POLC, to lead the Church on to even greater victories.  One of her major goals is the acquisition of a facility in order to accomplish the diverse objectives of our ministry.

Currently, our journey has taken us to an ever increasing desire to win souls for Christ and to expand in our Christian growth and development. Our ardent prayer is that this vision for soul winning will never wane; our love for our community will not die; we will not grow weary in well-doing; and the Church will continue to march on and the gates of hell will not prevail concerning it, Amen!
