Pastor Katie

PWPM'S HISTORY
Initially, PWPM started when Pastor Katie L. Dargan received an e-mail prayer request from Mary S. Hatcher in 2009.  She thought nothing of sending the prayer request, along with the prayer that she prayed, to all of her e-mail friends, and asking them also to include the person in their prayers.  Immediately, Pastor Katie received responses stating that they were in agreement with her prayer.  Mary Hatcher continued to send prayer requests from various ones.  Pastor Katie continued to pray and solicit the prayers of all of her internet friends.  Eventually, others who had been praying with Pastor Katie began to send their own prayer request.  The friends in her e-mail address book were no longer only internet friends.  Pastor Katie began to sense a deep spirit of compassion and love from  her friends who loved to pray for those who were in need of prayer.  They were fulfilling the commandment from our Lord Jesus Christ.  “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”  (James 5:16)  Pastor Katie’s friends’ willingness and readiness to pray with her for others caused the following scripture to become the focus for the PWPM:  “And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” (Luke 18:1)

Pastor Katie realized that she and her prayer partners were warriors interceding on behalf of all who needed prayer.  She began to call her internet prayer partners (PWP) Prayer Warrior Partners.

Not only were the PWP’s  praying with her for others, she also wanted her partners to enjoy all of the inspiration, enlightenment, encouragement, FYI. and Food For Thought, that she was receiving from some of her friends in the form of articles, videos, and slide shows.  Pastor Katie thought that sharing a medley of information would give the prayer partners exposure to things of which they may not be aware and could prove to be beneficial.  This fulfills the scripture: “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.” (Matthew 28:20)

This sharing of various subject matters brought about much dialogue between the PWP’s.  Sometimes, differences of opinions were voiced which proved to be very healthy.  The Prayer Warrior Partners transitioned into a ministry by the title of Prayer Warrior Partnership Ministries.

As the ministry continued to unfold, Pastor Katie was inspired to add a website which was later adopted by PWPM, after its incorporation, with her continuing as its moderator.  The website would encompass all the things she envisioned in the Ministry.  Since, the prayer warriors were from various countries, the website would appeal to a vast audience.  Pastor Katie encouraged all prayer warriors to contribute to the website items such as sermons, scriptures, poems, Biblical knowledge and appropriate slide shows, etc.  Above all, the prayer warriors would be able to have names added to the prayer list so that those who viewed the website could also pray for the names listed on the Prayer List.

God revealed an even greater plan for the ministry to Pastor Katie.  Since the prayer partners had prayed and shared with each other over the internet for over a year, it was time for her to put faces to names by way of a Prayer Conference.  She then shared her revelation with her Prayer Warrior Partners and Pastor Michael O. Afolayan, who was an avid prayer warrior.  He responded by encouraging Pastor Katie to act quickly upon what God had given her to do by forming a three person's committe to help her to implement the vision.  Pastor Michael offered to serve in whatever manner he could.  Even though he would be in Nigeria in 2012, he would put it on his agenda to return to the US for the 2012 Prayer Conference.

From that moment on, Pastor Katie sought to put together a three person Planning Committee to work with her and to help to plan and to implement the Prayer Conference vision that God had given to her.  The planning committee, consisting of Pastor Michael O. Afolayan, Bishop Ruth Urban, and the Reverend Lea Walker-Clark, acted without hesitation upon the vision for the conference.

Pastor Katie has always allowed the Holy Spirit to guide her.  She realized that she could accomplish all that she was given to do only through the power of the Holy Spirit.  It was not her doing the work, as she was only an instrument that God’s Holy Spirit used to do His work.

God truly works in mysterious ways.  Something that was so simple as Pastor Katie’s sending a prayer request to all of her e-mail friends blossomed into a great corporation, whose foundation and maker is God.  God holds accountable those He sets in charge of His earthly affairs of His Ministry known as “Prayer Warrior Partnership Ministries, Inc.” “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  (Philippians 1:6)
