2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
 
The Butterfly is the Official Emblem of PWPM which represents change.  There are four separate stages of change that the butterfly goes through and each stage must be completed, without any interference, in order for the butterfly to reach full maturity and function properly as it should.  So is it with life. 
 
Just like the Butterfly, there are various stages of change that we must go through, in order for us to achieve in Christ what Ephesians 4: 13 refers to as “the full measure of maturity in Christ. Let us take a look at this wonderful passage from 2 Peter 1: 5-10:
  
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
 
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
 
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
 
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
 
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
 
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall
 
As a disciple of Christ, a follower and learner of His teachings, every child of God must go through the various stages of renewal, development and change in order to grow.  As we see the light, we are required to walk in it. 
 
One thing for certain is change.  It is important that we change from the old life that we had before coming to Christ. As we apply His teachings to our daily living, it is a sure fact that we will change.  It is impossible to apply the teachings of Christ and not change. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 the Apostle Paul makes it clear to us that "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 
 
We must be willing to pull off the old man that we created as we indulged in the negative habits of the flesh and put on the new man as we develop Christian habits according to the Spirit of God.  We must be born again – that is, “born of the Spirit!”
 
In John 3: 3 & 7, Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again.  "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.    Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." Jesus made this truth simple and plain.  The real big issue is our willingness to undergo the change to transform our lives.
 
Like the butterfly, every believer must keep a steady course and stay within the right perimeter. This is the cocoon of the standard of Christ. This must be done without interference in order to be changed from living after the flesh to living after the Spirit.
