"Praying around the World"

PWPM'S WEBSITE RULES & REGULATIONS

Internet etiquette, popularly known as Netiquette, has become an essential part of the culture of today’s social networking. For us as people of God who are called by His name, we do not have to burden ourselves with the rules and regulations of this world but to remind ourselves of the basic expectations that the Most High has for us and to be further reminded that we are called to be worthy ambassadors of Christ. Our guiding principle therefore is taken verbatim from Paul’'s letter in Philippians 4: 8:  “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” This is our benchmark and therefore, borrowing from some of the netiquettes already set in place, we have come up with Ten Commandments of posting on PWPM website:

1. You will pray and think before you submit anything for posting; that way, you are confident every word uttered is of the Holy Spirit;

2. If what you intend to post will not make a positive contribution to the group be of interest to several readers, and bring glory to the name of the Lord, you will not post it; it is all about the souls of men;

3. If it is a personal message meant for an individual and would not be of value to anyone else, then you will not post it but instead, may sent it directly to that individual; this is to ensure that we are all of one accord in the things we do;

4. If you are using someone’s work – like, for example, an essay, quote or poem, you will make sure you acknowledge them; by so doing, you will fulfill the word of God to give honor to whom honor is due;

5. You will check the spelling and grammar of your submissions as much as possible; this is to let your readers know that you represent the God of knowledge and wisdom;

6. You will keep your posting as brief as possible; that way, we ensure more people can also be accommodated;

7. You will send your posting directly to the moderator’s address, and the moderator will determine whether or not to place your submission on the website; this is a part of doing everything orderly as the word of God enjoins us;  When posting humorous or sarcastic comments, you will refrain from jokes that are racist, sexist, controversial, or could in any way be construed or misconstrued as “dirty” being fully aware of the warning of Paul in Colossians 4:6 that, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone;

8. If you believe someone on the discussion group has violated netiquette, or offended you in what they say or do not say, you will send them a private e-mail message and not accuse them openly before everybody; that is part of being one another’s keepers;

9. You will always be polite in dealing with everyone; for the scripture says blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God; and

10. Before you submit anything to the website, you will ask yourself, “would Christ reward me with a star after reading this or would it bring tears to His eyes?” With this reality check, you will be attuned with the Spirit in your communication with your fellow servants.

Thank you and God bless you today
